Losing my dad at an early age has always made me observe others who still have their dads...many times watching with envy. Just to have him in my life would be so great. Why is it we sometimes have to lose loved ones in order to appreciate them? None of us are guaranteed tomorrow!

Thirty one years ago this month... I lost my dad in an automobile accident. Many kids lose their parents everyday. I sometimes wonder how different my life would have been if he were here today. What kind of impact would he have had on my life?

I often wonder if dads really know what an important role they play in the lives of their children.  Maybe your the only bread winner in your home...maybe you travel quite often...maybe your tired when you get home from a long day at work...whatever your reason is for your lack of time with your kids... Listen up!....they are and will grow up. No sooner than a blink of an eye, they will be grown and gone. What will you say then?... I wish I had more time? Where have I been? Just like I should be saying...all those chores can wait...time with my kids can't! So, what about that ball game, nap and even that important phone call when your child looks at you and says "Dad come play with me!"? How important are your kids to you? Important enough to pull off the side of the road and catch fireflies with them for just a few minutes? It's the little things you do that will impact them for the rest of their lives...and yours! Don't waste a moment...you'll get that nap one day! And your kids...they will notice the sacrifice! So invest just a few minutes of you into their lives and impact them for a lifetime...You or them may not be here tomorrow!
